This summer at Horkans we have a special treat for you and your family to enjoy.
Our Summer Family Farm is the perfect opportunity to introduce your children to some of the farm animals they often only see in books or on television. Our highly trained staff will be on hand to educate and inform, all in a safe and fun atmosphere suitable for all the family.
Our education zone has been specially set up with lots of information about our furry friends. We will have several different demonstrations during the day about:
- Animal care
- Planting and growing food
- Autumn in your garden
Feeding time will take place daily at 12:00 midday and 15:00. This will give our younger visitors the opportunity to get hands on with the animals under the guidance of our staff.
Chase and Marshall from Paw Patrol will be visiting every day at feeding time to meet and greet all the visitors.
Some of the animals that are visiting this year are:
- Giant Continental Rabbits
- Snakes and Creepy Crawlies
- Guinea Pigs
We will also be running a themed colouring competition and all the artwork will be proudly displayed on boards located in the learning zone.
We encourage creativity so the more colours the better!
Check out some of the brilliant pictures from last year below!
We hope that all your family will visit our Summer Farm, so we have plenty to keep the grown ups entertained as well.
We will have hands on demos where both adults and children can come and get their hands dirty – while picking up some handy tips along the way.
There will be plenty of delicious natural produce available to sample and buy each day.
At Horkans we are completely committed to providing and maintaining a warm, safe and healthy environment for all the animals in our care. If you have any questions or concerns about anything in relation to this, please feel free to ask our staff and they will gladly explain the processes involved. The Summer Farm has been created to be both safe and fun so come down and enjoy a family day out.
